Wyse Fork
WYSE FORK - Community along US 70 and Southwest Creek in Jones County. Wyse Fork is most known for the battle that took place here in early March 1865, during the final days of the Civil War. The battle lasted for three days, ending in a Union victory. However, Confederate forces did briefly delay the Union's advance through North Carolina.
