Paul's Place - Famous Hot Dogs

Word of mouth is possibly the best way to find a good hot dog shop.  And just outside of Wilmington in Pender County is such a place - Paul's Place.  For nearly 100 years, Paul's Place has served hot dogs to thousands of residents and visitors in Southeastern North Carolina.

Paul's Place is famous for its unique relish - a mix of bbq sauce and sweet relish.

The Paul family has operated their restaurant in Rocky Point since 1928 and at their current location along Highway 117 since 1951.  They began serving hot dogs in the 1930s, and it's been a community favorite ever since.  The multi-generation family-run business is a favorite stop for locals and beachgoers who will take a brief detour off Interstate 40 to get their fix.

What makes Paul's Place hot dogs unique is their relish.  A mix of sweet relish and barbecue sauce, the condiment is so well known that it is sold at grocery stores throughout the Carolinas and nationwide.

"Good dogs for good times," pretty much says it all.

If you're not a relish fan, there are a variety of different ways to top your hot dog, including chili and cheese.
