Majolica

MAJOLICA - Is located in Rowan County on the old Southern Railway. The story goes that when the rail superintendent was considering a name for a rail siding's termination here, his clerk brought in a green majolica pot filled with drinking pot. The siding terminus was then named Majolica. Today, there remains a Majolica Road in Rowan County that crosses over the railroad track. The former siding appears severed, though a brick company sits alongside the old siding track.
