Perry's Pond

Perry's Pond is another example of some of the pleasant unexpected surprises that I have come across while traveling along the backroads of North Carolina.  Located in Franklin County - not far from the Wake County Line - Perry's Pond is located at the site of the historic Perry's Mill that first began operation in 1778.  The pond is over one mile long and is a popular fishing location.   On the south end of the dam is access to the pond to the general public.  The access is privately operated and for a small fee via the honor system you can fish or use the boat launch.  I know the next time I am in the area I am going to have a few dollars on me so I can check this place out some more and maybe even cast a line or two.
