Old Hundred

OLD HUNDRED - This small Scotland County Community on US 74 is named for the 100-mile post along the railroad that ran from Wilmington to Charlotte.  The Wilmington, Charlotte, & Rutherford Railroad built the line through here in the late 1850s.  This line would eventually become part of the Carolina Central Railway which evolved into the Seaboard Air Line System and eventually CSX.
