BONSAL - Named after W. Roscoe Bonsal, a railroad engineer and founder of the New Hope Valley Railway. Settled in 1900, Incorporated 1907, Charter repealed in 1917.

Bonsal is home to the New Hope Valley Railway - a once monthly operating excursion train.
