Old Gulf Station on NC 66 - Day Acres

At the intersection of North Carolina Highway 66 and Baux Mountain Road in the Forsyth Community of Day Acres sits an old country store and Gulf station.  Known on google maps as "Gulf Dealer," the classic Gulf sign and the wood-sided building still stand as of late Summer 2022.

The gas pumps are long gone and have been replaced by a mismatch of chairs, tables, cabinets, and a soda machine.  None of the items were present when the photos in this feature were taken in 2010.

If you know of the station's former name or history, drop a comment below or send me an e-mail.

I really enjoyed reading your post about Knightdale's new wayfinding signs. As a frequent traveler, I appreciate well-designed signage that helps me navigate unfamiliar places with ease. It's great to see the town investing in this type of infrastructure, as it can enhance the visitor experience and make locals feel more connected to their community.Sign Boards Chennai
The attention to detail, like incorporating the town's logo and color scheme, is also a nice touch. I hope to visit Knightdale soon and see these signs in person!
